I am having a problem here. My site's loading speed is less than my competitors due to graphics. And therefore its loading time is much larger than my competitors. Will it help my site's SEO?

In my opinion it won't matter unless your site show a loading time out.

Loading speed will be considered as a metric in mobile rankings but in deskstop nothing much important to the search engine.

Decrease the loading time by reducing errors from website. Less loading time is best to achieve user satisfaction. Moreover google also want to deliver best results to users. Hence you should work on it.
