Yeah in today's world you can say that.
You need separate site just for mobile devices or a fully functioning mobile app. You just have to optimize your site for mobile devices which can be done by just buying a professional theme. So, yeah if a couple of dollars spending can earn back you hundreds more then why don't we do it.

Mobile optimization is utmostly necessary if you ask me. People are more and more using mobile devices as their primary surfing device over these couple of years and its increasing day by day.
