Paid Advertising Methods for your Forum

What are the paid advertising methods which you have used for advertising your forum? Share your experiences.

In the case of paid advertising I always rely on Google Adwords and banner advertisements in other fellow forums. Although I once tried paid forum marketing which you have to pay other people to add your link in their signature but it didn't work it so well so I just stopped.

My forums just have done well via forum marketing. But I also do paid advertisement. My method is to pay other bloggers in my niche to write a review(obviously a good one ) for my new forum. It works everytime and has brought me a lot potential members in my forum.

Google Adwords is good but I think that Facebook sponsored ads will do great.
