Differenet keywords to target the same market - mrb.frequency - 03-02-2015
If my competitors say using the keywords say 'computers', 'mobile phones' etc. Then is it wise to choose these keyword or relevant keywords to those such as 'desktops', 'laptops', 'cellphones' etc. Then which one should i choose?

Yeah, obviously you can choose the alternative keywords and they will be better as the primary keywords have competitors but don't ignore the primary ones. You can use them in your article body and also tags so you can rank for them also. Although in the age of semantic search it may be not necessarily needed but you can rank for them too if you mention them. But remember don't overcrowd your content body with keywords just mention when its relevant.

Its better to consider all the keywords incluidng the the essential ones with the relevant ones too.

While you can use those words just use them in a sense that makes you stand out for example, Cheap Computers or smart phones. This way you're still able to compete with just "Computer".

You can actually do that, have keyword analysis that your competitors used then afterwards search for the one that a commonly use so that you can standout.

You can not ignore competitor keyword but you would be focus on your work may be you competitor work and your work are same but not this feet all condition.
So find Keyword on your related work.
