It totally depends on the members and in which circumstances they have joined.
If they are targeted then it should be okay. Otherwise, you will end up in spam.

From my experience apparently No. But if its a closed groups of yours where people actually joined because they care bout the group and want to learn or share information then the situation can be different.
But don't get your hopes high because after FB is a social networking site and most people there in general are for amusement only.
