I mean from a to b, from b to c and then from c to d. Along with directly from a,b to d. Likewise links?

Most people what does is make the link cycle and then link to the main site. Or, just link from the individual sites to the main site. Its not good to do both.
Whether you like it or not. The destination site D should always be present through one site once.
