Reasons for a Mobile App Abandonment - danni - 01-06-2017

There may be plenty of reasons for a user to abandon a Mobile App. As a business owner if your mobile app gets abandoned then it will be pretty disappointed. Here are some points or reasons why a mobile app gets abandoned.

- Monitor the memory usage of your Mobile App. Avoid memory leaks, people often abandon apps due to their size. The smaller the size, the better.

- Mobile apps having technical problems. No one likes anything if it shows any kind of error while installing or using it.

- I have seen many good apps get abandoned from their users just for the reason that they contain too many ads. One or two ads is fine but more than that can cause serious problems.

- App navigation, easy to use factor also plays an important role. So, keep that it mind too.

- People often create a very good app but while marketing it they don't describe it in the right way. Users come and see the app but they don't even recognize the importance of it and the app gets abandoned.

- What you promise you deliver. I see many apps have this problem. Users download it more one reason and they get the problem solver with the app for another reason and for the first reason to be solved they have to pay for any kind of subscription or full service. This thing is really disappointing and users hate this.

Nice points you mentioned here. I just wanted to add few ones.

People don't like if the mobile app is too complex to handle, and takes long time to respond to their actions. I have seen plenty apps that gets downloads at first at a huge number but then drops just due to these reasons.

Simple designed apps have a more tendency to capture the market then high graphics apps. People don't often have time while in the move to appreciate the visual goodness of the app but they admire the simplicity and getting the job done quickly.

Sometimes, I just leave an app because it demands too many updates. And without updating it I am not allowed to use it.
